CILICIA. Tarsus. Hadrian, 117-138. Tridrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 8.74 g, 12 h). ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ ΘΕ ΤΡA ΠΑΡ ΥΙ ΘΕ ΝΕΡ ΥΙ ΤΡΑI ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟϹ ϹEB Laureate head of Hadrian to right. Rev. TΑΡϹΕΩΝ ΜΗΤΡΟΠΟΛΕΩϹ City-goddess, turreted and veiled, seated left, holding palm in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left; at feet to left, river-god Kydnos, crowned with wreath of sedge, swimming left; on Tyche, countermark: A-M-K and laureate bust of Caracalla to right within oval incuse. Prieur 761. RPC III online 3262.13 (this coin). For countermark, Howgego 843. Nicely toned. Some graffiti on the obverse and with minor weakness from countermarking, otherwise, good fine.
